Storage/Information gathering-15 june 2023
Hey guys,
I will quickly discuss how I am getting on in my Master's project for my Creative Digital Media & UX degree.
As I mentioned in a previous post I have begun coding my application using React Native. The next step for me was to choose a storage service so that I could hold all of the information and images on the rockets.
After looking at different services, I have chosen Firebase for all of my rocket data and images. I chose Firebase as I have some experience with it before, as I have used it in previous assignments for this course. The other reason was Firebase offers 50,000 per day document reads on the free version. This was important as I could quickly iterate and change features and not hit the cap on the number of free reads per day.
I have begun to gather all of the information on the European rockets using a spreadsheet which you can view here if you want: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sB00blMbEHEBkFrlFR4WsaattcSw2cMZU5HBr2fz...
Later on, I will upload the rocket data to Firebase and get it displayed on my app.
Hope you enjoyed this post looking into my major project.
See you soon.
Marcus.
